USB 2.0 HARDDisk detection problem

Hi,

I have newly purchased USB 2.0 HiSpeed IDE Hard Disk. When i plug USB
hard disk to machine. Machine finds new device but gives message in
bubble message that "device has not been properly installed" but if
same device i plug it in Windows 2k machine then it detects and
performs operation properly.

My Machine has Windows XP with SP2, Mother Board 915 GAV, It detects
USB 2.0 Flash device and Priter but not harddisk.

Please let me know wht might be the problem.
