USB 2.0 Device

I have installed a Belkin USB 2.0 PCI card in my box (pc only had 1.1 on
the board). I have an external WD hard drive that is USB 2.0. When I
plug the hard drive into the USB 2.0 port I get a dialog box that says
"No High speed USB hub found.... HI-SPEED USB Device Plugged into
non-HI-SPEED USB Hub." When I look at my devices, I do not see any USB
device that specifies USB 2.0, only the 1.1 device that is built in and
the new card whci says "OPTi 82C861 PCI to USB Open Host Controller".

I have unistalled ALL USB devices and reinstalled, and still the same.
I am running XP Pro , with SP2. The device manager shows no errors and
reports that all devices are working properly. I have checked with Dell
and there is no new Bios for my pc (Dimension 4300). Everything I have
read said XP should support this card without any additional drivers.

Anyone have any isdeas where I should go to next?

TIA

Do you have a listing in device manager for Standard Enhanced PCI to USB
host controller? That is the USB 2.0 controller and you need it (or
dedicated drivers supplied by the device manufacturer).

No. I didn't see that. So. I took the card out of the machine again
to campare the model number on the card toi the package. Lo and behold,
Belkin packaged a 1.1 card in a 2.0 package. Back to CompUSA I go.

Thanks for the reply.
