USB 2.0 driver

I've just formatted my pc and installed windows xp then installed the service
pack 2, but somehow, it can't detect anything connected to the USB ... can
somebody help me??? I've tried to install the service pack 1 , coz there's a
usb driver in there, but since I've installed the sp2 it didn't allow me to
install sp1. What can I do ???

Third party not Microsoft drivers? Cabling should be for USB 2.0 not
USB1.0?

SP2 incorporates all the updates of SP1, thus installing SP1 would
be redundant. Download the drivers from your utility disk or the
manufacturers website.
