URLs typed in run.. Command box wont work

plase can someone help me with this, i have no idea how to beging fixing it.
any help would be appreciated.

When a URL is typed in run box e.g http://www.yahoo.com, instead of Internet
Explorer displaying the web page i get "Application not found
http://www.yahoo.com"

Make sure you are clean of all scumware.

it turns out, i just had no default browser set.
