I have two ISPs (one high speed and one dial-up). While I am using the high
speed connection, I periodically receive a meesage that says the site
66.206.14.40 is trying to get my modem to dial-in. I looked up this site
and have never had anything to do with it. Can anyone tell me how to stop
the dial-in request? Thanks........

Hi,

A program or spyware might initializing the dial-up connection.

SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
http://security.kolla.de/

and

Adaware (similar)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
* Perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed *

To disable automatic dial completely (means no program can automatically
dial, however you can do manually.)

1. Right click the My computer icon (Desktop), open Manage/Services and
Applications/Services.
2. In the right pane scroll down to Remote Accces Auto Connection Manager
and double click it.
3. Use the Startup type drop box and choose Disabled.
