Doubling Dial up connection question

H

herr

We are having a small network at the office, and each computer has a dial up
modem
We have also shared a dial up connection on one computer, so that the other
computers can access the Internet through this computer using only one
account.

My question is that, Is there a way to use both dial up modems
simultaneously, one on each computer and one on the share-dial up computer,
so that we would double the internet connection speed for each user?
Or any way to use both modems at once?

Best Regards

You can get DSL in some areas now for the same price as dial-up. You might
be better off looking into that (and getting a network router so everyone
can use it).

I did some searching on the web and found out that there are ISP's that
support the practice of "multi-linking" or "modem bonding". From what I read
you have to find an ISP that supports the technology, and you have to have
two phone lines in place for it. You can't have the lines running to two
separate PCs, both lines have to be connected to one PC that collates the
two data streams back into one. Probably not as good of a deal as broadband,
but it sounds like it's your only choice for now (besides satellite, which
may still be more expensive than two lines).
