Bill

Hi, I'm having a problem with the links in my AIM Today (AOL Instant
Messenger) window and the e-mail links I get in Outlook Express. When I
click the links, nothing happens. Normally, IE is supposed to open up and
take me to the page, but now nothing at all happens.

I reset my settings in the IE properties, but that didn't do it. I know this
newsgroup isn't about AIM or anything, but I was just thinking that some
people might know what to do in this case. By the way, if it matters, I'm
running XP Pro.

Thank you

Hi Bill,

For OE:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Hyperlinks not opening:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.

Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

Kelly, thanks for the response. The Outlook Express now runs fine, thanks.

However, the links on the AIM Today window, for instance, are still the
same. I click them, but they do nothing.

Thanks.

Most welcome, Bill and I really can't help you with AIM. Could try?

Go to Start/Run and type each of these in:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Second open window of IE hangs:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and uncheck the option
to Enable third party browsing extensions, restart IE.

Are they javascript links? May try refresh your scripting engine: [Links Courtesy of Frank Saunders]
