Internet Explorer 6.6

Hi, I seem to be having some issue with my Internet
Explorer and am not sure where the problem lies. I have
downloaded and installed AOL instant messenger and have
IM with it. It works fine but when I try to assign a
buddy icon and it takes me to the aol buddy icon page, IE
crashes whenever I click on either of the buddy icons.
Thinking that this problem is unique to AOL's website I
visited music artists' website and have tried using their
buddy icons but the same thing happens; IE crashes. I
visited the AIM.com website to see if I could get some
help in their computing chat room but when I click on the
link to enter the chat room - again IE crashes.

The system I have is a Dell Dimension 8200 with comcast
cable modem. I have XP as my Operating System and I also
have MSN instant Messenger, which works fine but most of
my friends uses AIM so I want to have both. I have done
the same at work by installing both AIM and MSN Instant
Messenger but the difference is that at work we have
Windows 2000 pro as our operating System. The buddy Icon
works fine in at work though.

Please help me in solving this problem it is very
frustrating as I have no ideas as to what is causing the
problem.

HELP PLEASE!!!
