URL changes itself in IE6 Favorites - Web Document tab

This happens in IE6.
Occasionally, the URL saved in Tools - Internet Options - Web Document tab
will change on its own for no apparent reason. For example, the favorite may
be saved as http://www.microsoft.com, but at some point later in time, when
the favorite is clicked, a "Page not found" error may appear. Upon
examination of the URL in the Web Document tab, it will look something like
http://www.microsoft.com/api/?direct=4iys/api
Does anyone know what causes the URL to change on its own? Is there anyway
to prevent changes from happening?

If you want to save the Home page I think you should save the URL
that that one redirects to or at least save it with a trailing slash.

BTW how are you saving it? Sometimes, the URL in the Address bar
is not what gets saved.

Have you tried marking its .URL file Read-Only after you save it
the way you want it?
