P
Paul.
I am no stranger to pc's or upgrading them to XP, but I seemed to have
failed my friend this time.
This pc is a 1 GHz Mesh with 256MB Ram running Win 98. He has bought a XP
Home upgrade direct from Microsoft.
On inserting the CD, the S/W suggested an upgrade (as expected) and then
asked for the key etc. all went well until it wanted to reboot. Now, the
system reboots in to the less graphical part of the install and keeps saying
preparing install and then reboots again.
The next problem is that when after stopping this process and rebooting the
system, we now have the options to continue with XP upgrade or cancel XP
upgrade. If we choose cancel its boots back in to Win 98. However, we now
seem to have lost USB support as all devices plugged in the USB ports are
not seen.
Microsoft here in the UK don't have telephone support on a Sunday so I hope
someone here can help.
Thanks.
