URGENT need help - software disabled by hardware!!!!!

P

Peter

Dear experts,

I have posted this message twice within this two days but
haven't received any reply. I need your help!!!!!

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop running XP Home and
everything works fine until yesterday.

I am using the QuarkXpress version 4.1 (a publishing
software) and it works perfectly fine. Yesterday, I
bought an ext. USB keyboard and connected it to the
laptop. XP recongnized it and it works fine. However,
after I unpluged the USB external keyboard, I can't load
the QuarkXpress version 4.1 and it always prompts a
message " This version of QuarkXpress cannot be used with
this Keyboard [86]".

I have removed the QuarkXpress and re-installed again but
the problem persists. I also removed the keyboard and USB
controller from device manager and reinstalled them of no
avail. So, I would be grateful if anyone could help me
solve this problem.

TIA

Peter

Maybe you should re-think the keyboard and do a system restore prior to all
the "damage".
