URGENT. My computer cannot start because i need to install system

Before i can start windows xp professional, a meesage appears on the black screen and says i need to install windows/system32/ntoskrnl.exe or something like that, before i can run windows. So obviously, i can no longer use my computer. Please help ASAP. Thanks. IK
