I need to install some .exe file before i can run Windows. URGENT!

I use XP professional. When i turn on my computer, even before Windows starts, in the black screen, it says that i must install this file: nfoskrnl.exe or something like that in the Windows/System32... before running Windows. Obviously, since i can't install this file, I cannot use my computer. Please help if you can. Thanks. IK

Set the BIOS to boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead
of Setup, take the immediate R for Repair. Assume any password
requested is blank, and TAB over.

Give (assuming the CD Letter is D: - modify otherwise)

Expand D:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

note NTOSKRNL is the file wanted)
