URGENT: Logging in to new domain

G

Gaspar

In my corporate LAN we changed the Windows NT 4 server hosting domain
"MYDOMAIN" with a Windows 2003 server hosting "MYDOMAIN.COM" (with MYDOMAIN
as netbios name).

In windows 98 terminals I didn't change anything and users logged in
normally to the new domain.
BUT, in windows xp, when users log in, a new profile is created and EVERY
USER in EVERY XP COMPUTER must be reconfigurated.
For example, the "jsmith" profile was in "C:\Documents and Settings\jsmith",
but after logging in to the new domain, the profile path is "C:\Documents
and Settings\jsmith.mydomain".

Do you know any tricks to prevent this from happening? What registry keys
should I change to the point "jsmith" to the old path?

Help!!
Thanks

I don't know of an easy way to fix your problem. Here is a link that will
help with the migration but it will take time and planning to implement the
changes.
