urgent help needed! Won't boot to Windows

Help. Acer laptop. Got message corrupt or file missing:
windows/system32/config/system
Won't go beyond. Can only boot from CD recovery but that
will wipe all data and data on PC is very, very important
and got no backup. Is anyway at all of getting into
windows and getting this data off without wiping hard
drive?
Please can anyone help?

A repair install "should" keep your files intact.you won't be reformating only reinstalling windows.I had to do this once and it worked as advertized.
