Urgent help...can't rid the table drawing pen state

Using FP 2003.

I dared to insert a table but can't now get rid of the table drawing pen
mouse pointer and return to normal state.
So the only editing I can do now is inserting tables... even if I close and
reopen FP.

you can double click anywhere on your screen to rid yourself of the
damned pen.

FYI: In the meanwhile, I learned also that the Esc key would do the job too.
