In the task manager under the processes tab I see this process running
(upsio.exe) alternating between 0 % cpu useage and 45 % cpu useage over and
over. What is this process? It doesn't seem normal.

Have a look at your hard disk. In which folder can you
find this file? The folder name will probably tell you lots
about the file.

upsio.exe : either for PowerPanel (Plus) or a Uninterrupt Power supply
located in: C:\PowerPanel\upsio.exe
Search for it and see its locate and its properties for a clue (S).
