Uploading to an ASP at 40-60k/sec unless KB889293 is removed

I have a very odd problem. I have many systems that have been prepared via
sysprep and aside from this one problem, there aren't any.

The problem is when we upload to a website created with ASP with respect to
the speed in which is sends. It will never go past 40-60k/sec and if I
un-install KB889293 (Cumulative Patch for IE v6.1) I get LAN speeds
(4-8Mb/sec.)

I expanded the patch to find several files such as mshtml.dll to find out
which files gets changed and nothing pops out at me and if I install SP2, the
problem is still there.

To make matters more complex, I have my current system which has SP2 loaded
and I have no problems sending at 4Mb/sec+ to the website. My system was
installed manually and not via sysprep which I thought to be the problem so
when I pulled out a laptop with a image that has a slow upload and re-install
it manually, it's fast up until the point I load KB889293 or Sp2.

Can anyone shed light on this? I'm losing my mind. Thanks.

Windows take the position, right or wrong, that the hardware needs to develop a driver good enough to perform on Windows, (rather
than Windows changing for some hardware compatibility.) You have hardware that either needs upgrading, or an improved driver, to
sustain security, (per the 'critical' update requirements), and also give you the performance you require.

I don't think that it is just some setting that is out. SP2 has the same kinds of issues with others. (DVD, USB, etc)

I fail to see how your reply is supposed to help.

I have found a solution for XP SP1 systems by installing a similar update
called KB889669. After the install, it works very quickly. I still have the
same problem for SP2 systems so I'll have to go back to the drawing board. I
had noticed an update called KB834707 which looks the same as KB889293 &
KB889669 but it failed to increase performance.
