upload using ftp

I uploaded my site using FP and edit the site using FP because it is so very
easy to use especially for the none experienced users who also edit the site.
However, when I upload audio files, I use WS FTP. I use FP 2000 and found I
wasn't having much success uploading audio files, thats why I went to WS FTP.
I understand that you shouldn't use an outside FTP with FPSE. Am I in danger
of harming my site? I don't use any web-bots for anything, there are no
forms, or built in buttons etc. Its just basic pages, a bit of javascript
maybe, and plenty of audio files.

Using FrontPage to upload all your files is the most preferred method, as it
will be able to manage your website, but using FTP to transfer media files
should not have any effect on your site whatsoever.

Recommend if your host supports subwebs you create a folder - say media, and convert it to a subweb (on your local & remote sites)
- then FTP to that "folder" should not affect the root web FP SE (and FP will not try to "manage" the media files you are FTPing
