Upgrading XP Home

Having just experienced a major XP problem, which was
made worse because of an OEM version of Home version of
XP, I would like to upgrade to XP Pro so that I have a CD
to go back to if I should have problems in the future.
Can I upgrade from Home version to XP Pro? Any
problems? Thanks!

Yes - You can use a regular upgrade version CD of Pro (though it makes
no mention of Home, it is the toll for the job), and run it from the
existing system.

First though if this is an XP that came preinstalled, I would check
that there is no proprietary hardware that might require a customised
system. I would for example be reluctant to try on a Compaq machine.
