Hi,
I would like upgrade from XP Home (OEM version) to XP Pro.
Can I buy the XP Pro Upgrade Retail version, or do I have to buy the XP Pro
Full Retail version?

Thanks,

FV

Either will work. Since the Upgrade is considerably cheaper that's what you
should buy.

But are you sure you want to do this? Are you aware that XP Home and
Professional are identical except that Professional includes a few features
(mostly related to security and networking) missing from Home? Most home
users don't need and would never use these extra features and will see no
benefits by upgrading.

Also note another point, not included in any of the above: Professional
allows ten concurrent network connections, and Home only five.

XP Pro Upgrade version will work just fine.

full retail; you cannot 'crossgrade'

What are you on about? This answer makes no sense.

Although I am not particularly interested in the new OS - Vista, but you are
entitled to know that this new OS is coming out very soon (around Jan.
2007), so if you could also consider to purchase the upgraded version of
Vista.

You should be able find more information about it from MS site.

Good luck.
