Upgrading XP Home to Pro Rebooting

Have new PentIV 2.8 Gbyte running XP Home. Purchased XP
Pro. On initial installion got to the stage of a.
Installing Windows, Screen blinked once then 20 seconds
later system rebooted, "Setup being restarted" is comment
on screen, then goes to a. above, over a period of 5 min
the above loop continues. Can't stop the procees when PC
is on it continues.
