Hello,

While trying to upgrade to XP pro I get the following
error message:

"The specified share C:\WINDOWS\setuppd must be prepared
before use "
Please contact your system administrator.

How can I do this.

Please some help,
Thanks

(I had no problems doing the compatibility check)

Hi,

Are you logged on with administrative level priviledges? You need to be.

Common installation problems are usually cured by restarting the machine,
then....

1) Delete the contents of the temp folders, there may be a file in there
interfering with the setup routine of the installer. Get both:

C:\Windows\temp
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\local settings\temp

2) Turn off all other running programs, especially your antivirus software.
Use ctrl+shift+escape, if necessary, to "end task" on everything.
