Upgrading to XP Pro Service Pack 2 has broken my internet connecti

I upgraded to Win XP Pro 2 and on rebooting I was no longer able to access
the internet.

My XP pro machine is still able to connect to my 2000 machine the wireless
router.
I know there isnt a problem with the router as Im able to access the
internet with my 2000 machine.
Ive duplicated the settings from my 2000 machine to the XP machine.
The settings in IPConfig seem fine.
Ive checked that the XP firewall is disabled as there is firewall protection
on the router.

I found some suggestions about repairing winsock using a program called
WinsockXPfix - This didnt work.
I also went through microsofts suggestion of deleting the winsock registry
keys and then recreating them... this didnt work.

What else could be preventing my XP machine from connecting to the web?
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Diagnosing Network connectivity, use the following general
steps:

1.) Verify IP, DNS & Gateway with IPConfig
-No AutoConfiguration with 169.-.-.- IP Address
2.) Ping from your PC to the Access Device (192.168.x.x)
3.) Ping from your PC to the ISP's Gateway Address
4.) Ping from your PC to the ISP's DNS Server ( will be in
Routers Status page showing WAN Settings)
5.) Ping from your PC to a site that accepts ping traffic
(DSLReports.Com is a good site to use)

WHOO HOO!!!
Problem solved!!!

It had something to do with the computer being multihomed whatever that is.
I think its got something to do with my machines being networked together
and connected to the internet.

Anyways...
Go to Start => Run and type in services.msc => click ok.
Find Computer Browser, right click on it and select properties.
Change the Startup type from Automatic to Manual, then stop and restart the
service.
