I have beent rying for a while to get Win XP installed on my home PC which is running Win 2K. It copies the files to do the installation and then restarts the PC and then hangs after it says Copying Windows XP files to your computer.

What could be happening that would cause the installation process to just stop and hang like that?

To do a clean install, boot XP CD-Rom. When you get to the point, delete the
existing NTFS and or other partitions found. After you delete the
partition(s) abort the install, then again restart the pc booting the
CD-Rom to avoid unexpected drive letter assignments with your new install.
