Upgrading Me to Xp

I have a new computer that came with XP Pro. Can I use the disk and key to
upgrade my Compaq with WinME? And if for some reason I could but the install
won't work, will my original OS be history? (I don't have a clue as to where
my ME restore disk is.)

No, you will have to obtain another license for the Compaq computer. As
for the second question that depends, if you don't want to lose the
Windows ME installation it is best to install Windows XP to another disk
or partition instead of doing an upgrade.
