Upgrading home to pro

I have just brough a new pc that comes with home but I want to install pro
but the new pc has a service pack 2 cd and my copy of pro is service pack 1
and I get the following message
Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is
newer than the version on the CD.

Warning: If you decide to delete the newer version of Windows that is
currently installed on your computer, the files and settings cannot be
recovered.
Is there a way round with out reinstalling all the software again

Hi Kevin,

You could slipstream your WINXP Pro SP1 install CD with SP2, then create a
bootable install CD. There are a number of sites on the net that give
instructions for slipstreaming.....one is here:

I have never heard of slipstreaming but seems like just the job I am
downloading SP2 as I type

juse errors at present with error reading netmap.inf I will give it another
try tomorow
