Upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

I am in the process of upgrading to XP Professional and
got the following error: "The signature for Windows XP
Professional Upgrade is invalid. The error code is
800b0100. No signature was present in the subject."

Now, I am stuck in this continuous loop where the computer
restarts and goes right back into the installation mode
(step 4 - Installing Windows) and then I get the error
again. Can someone please help me to either fix this or
at least help get out of this loop and back to XP home?

Install xp cd,You might have to go into the BIOS,select,Boot configuration-or similar
select,boot to cd-1st priority,exit BIOS by saveing changes and exit
boot to xp cd,at menu screen select,install xp,new copy,xp takes over wit
new installation and formates the hd first.
