I am upgrading out network from Windows 2000 server to 2003
server. I
firstly upgraded a Win 2000 to Win 2003 and then tried to
promote it to
a DC but this failed and I was advised to run adprep by the
wizard.
I am now about to upgrade the main DC in the network from Win
2000 to
2003. I cannot foresee many problems apart from maybe with
our
Exchange server which is running Exchange 2000.
Can anyone offer me any advice on this matter please ?

Don’t increase the forest functional level to Windows servers 2003
while RUS is still on the e2k server. After moving the RUS to a e2k3
server you can switch to ffl windows server 2003. Reason is that with
FFL w2k3 you get linked value replication and e2k is not familiar with
that and it will not detect changes. The consequences are if you do
it, that you have to run the RUS manually (rebuild). you will find
