Upgrading to a W2k3 Domain

Hi,

I'm palnning on upgrading from W2k to W2k3. I'm also upgrading the hardware
.. I have two boxes with AD role, one is a file/print server and one is
running Exchange 2003.
I'm adding the third box because I wan't to have the Exchange on a dedicated
machine. That is without the AD role.
Both w2k boxes have sp4 and recent updates.

Can you please comment on my plan:

1. Setup W2k3 on new boxes
2. Disconnect all users and block all user connections, isolate server network
3. Take full backup of both w2k boxes, data and sysstate
4. Run adprep /forestprep on Schema master - then replicate
5. Run adprep /domainprep on Infrastructure master - then replicate
6. Transfer FSMO roles from W2k to W2k3 - then replicate
7. Test configuration - log on from workstations etc.

Regards, Ingi.

Just remember about making changes in the exchange attriubte first to
avoid mangled attributes:

If You want to be safe disconnect Your schema master from the rest of
DCs before doing the schema upgrade - If everything goes OK You can
connect it back and replicate.
