upgrading from millenium

After i installed xp pro there are double desktops, side by side, how do i
fix that?
 
I have never heard of what your talking about?

do both desktops function, if so, does one display ME and the other XP??
or they both XP showing the same display?
 
Sounds like a problem with the video adapter driver that got selected.
visit the adapter manufacturers Web Site and download/install the
correct one for your hardware.
