Are you using an authentic Microsoft Windows XP CD
with the edge-to-edge hologram image? Or are you
using a copied Windows XP CD? If the later, you
probably have a bad/incomplete CD burn.
To resolve this issue, use another Windows XP CD-ROM
to install Windows XP. If this option is not available to you,
contact the Microsoft Order Desk to order replacement media
from Microsoft.

| I am choosing to upgrade rather than a clean install. When the setup
| reaches the Install section after rebooting, an error message appears
| which says file c:\$win_nt$.~ls\i386\asms is not the same as install
| file. It also says that there is a santax error on line 21 of c:\same
| as above\6000\msft\vcrtl\vcrtl.man. Thanks for any help.
