Upgraded motherboard, added SCSI card, product activation failes

Hello all,

My apology in advance if I'm in the wrong thread, but here
is my situation. I upgraded my motherboard, and it
required re-activation. Then I added SCSI card and hard
drives to transfer my files from a SCSI hard drive and
SCSI DVD-RAM, and it required re-activation again. It went
through. Then I was done, removed my SCSI card, and it was
significant change in hardware again. This time, it did
not let me activate it since it has been activated too
many times. Now my new upgraded machine has 3 days to live
due to forced activation. Is there a Microsoft phone
number I can call to resolve this issue?

thank you,
Jun

Yes, the phone number to call is generally displayed on the same
screen that tells you that automatic activation fails and offers you
the option to activate by telephone.

Thank you Bruce for quick reply, but I have already tried
the automated phone system listed on screen. However,
there
was no way to reach actual person over the phone, unless
you are volume lic. customer. I called
that 888 number five times total and covered all
menu options, to no avail. Activation over telephone
works only when your product key is brand new and automated
system can handle the request: otherwise there is
nobody to talk to - is there any other way that you know
of (outside of buying yet another copy just for product
key)?

The very few times I've had to activate a system (standard retail
licenses) via telephone, I always spoken with a live person and had
the matter handled in under 5 minutes, so I'm afraid I can't offer any
insights into whatever automated system it is that you're reaching.
