upgraded from win98

I just inherited a bunch of Win2K WSs that had been upgraded from Win98.
However the machines have maintained their Win98 profile setups (i.e.
everyone gets the same outlook configuration).
How can I get these machines to use a more standard Win2K profile setup?

- Did you check if every user has his/her own profile folder?
- When a user makes a change to the profile, are the
changes retained for the next session?

Yes changes are saved and new profiles are created. But everyone gets the
same Outlook config. A "new" user logs on for the first time, a profile is
created in the Documents and Settings folder as I would expect. But when you
go to open Outlook for the "first" time instead of asking you for
configuration info, it just opens the original Win98 User Profile. Same pst,
same server info and user info. What ever changes we then make (to outlook)
are passed on to any other users who log on to the machine. Not at all
useful.

Your question has nothing to do with Win98 or with Win2000,
and everything with Outlook. All your users use the same
Outlook profile, as you can ascertain via the Control Panel /
Mail and Fax. To resolve the issue, repost in an Outlook
newsgroup, stating exactly which version of Outlook you use.
I believe there are tools to set the Outlook profile, e.g.
newprof.exe.

I think it is Win2K/Win98 as these machines are also not getting the domain
polices updated completly. (i.e. users can not shut down thought domain
policey allows it).
