upgrade

I currently have Windows ME, having a bit of trouble with
it freezing up etc. I would like to upgrade to XP, I have
checked the compatibility, and I do need to eliminate some
things, do I need to totally wipe out my computer and
start from scratch? or can i install over ME and then
delete it?

If you delete the things that the compatiblity checker
says you should delete/deactivate, you can just install
windows XP over Windows ME and so keep all your data, no
need to have Setup format your drive and install XP on
that.
