Upgrade?

Hi All,

I need my laptop to have three different configurations depending on where
I'm at. At home I need to belong to my home workgroup and use DHCP. At the
office I need to belong to a different workgroup (not domain) and am
assigned a fixed IP address. When I travel to a third site, I have to change
workgroups and IP settings yet again. It's really kind of a pain.

So, I'm running XP Home and set up three different users, one for each site,
but XP home applies my changes to all users every time I change them. It
doesn't seem to matter who I'm logged in as, changing settings affects all
the other user profiles I set up.

My question is: will upgrading to XP Professional allow me to set up unique
profiles for each user? I'd really hate to spend the time and money
upgrading only to find I haven't gained anything.

Use hardware profiles. Right click on My Computer choose properties,
select the hardware tab, click on Harware profiles and add a couple.
Boot into each one and configure the netwok as needed.
