I have a laptop that has XP home installed and I want to
upgrade it to XP Pro. When I look at the XP Pro upgrades
it doesn't specify that you can upgrade from XP home, they
only list the other Windows OSs. Is it possible to use
this same upgrade to take me from Home edition to Pro
edition? If not, is there one to do this?

Yes, XP Pro will upgrade the Home Edition. I guess MS didn't think many
people would perfer the Pro over the Home (or need it) so they didn't
include this in the possible systems to upgrade.

you can upgrade from windows XP home edition to professional. the only thing
that you need is to buy an upgrade package. But with the upgrade packages
you can face some problems. before upgrading to xp professional call the
manufacturer of your notebook.

There are no problems with the upgrade version that aren't also
found on the full version. In fact, the two are identical except
for the rules for qualification to use it. The upgrade requires
that you have a previous qualifying version, either installed or
on CD; the full version doesn't.
