Upgrade Win2K SP4 to WinXP Pro SP1

I currently have Win2K SP4 on my hard drive and want to move to a new
drive. I thought about a clean install of WinXP Pro SP1 on the new
drive. Can I purchase the WinXP upgrade and install it on the new drive
even if Win 2K is not on the new drive? I have all of my original Win2K
CD's. What proof of previous systen is required to upgrade?

Yes, you can, but why in the world would you want to?

The CD will do just fine.

You can purchase the Upgrade and do a clean install. Early
in the process you will be asked to put one of your Win2K
disks into the CD drive for verification that you have an
earlier version.
