upgrade to XP Pro

I'm currently running XP Home upgrade. Bought XP Pro, but each time i try to
upgrade i get the following message (it will let me do a new install, but
no option to upgrade)

"The option to upgrade will not be available at this time because Setup was
unable to load the file
D\i386\WINNTUPG\NETUPGRD.DLL.
The system could not find the file specified."

Went onto microsost site for help, it said to copy the i386 folder from XP
disk to my hard drive, did this but i still get the same message???

Is there a specific place i need to copy this file to??? Any ideas greatly
appreciated. I don't want to do a new install because of all the files being
deleted on my pc.

I carried out these instructions to no avail. I still get the same message
when i try to install. I could do a full install, but it won't let me
upgrade. Is there a specific place to copy the i386 folder to?

Is your Pro copy OEM? You can't do a upgrade with OEM, new install only. A
retail Pro will do a upgrade or a clean install.
