I am about to upgrade to XP from Windows 98. I don't have
any hardware issues, but am concerned that it will not be
compatible with Word 2000. Is anybody running XP with
Word 2000? Do you know the benefits of XP Pro over XP
Home? Thank you for your reply.

Yes, it works fine.

Home?

XP Professional and XP Home are exactly the same in all respects,
except that Professional has a few features (mostly related to
networking and security) missing from Home. For most (but not
all) home users, these features aren't needed, would never be
used, and buying Professional instead of Home is a waste of
money.

For details go to

Also note that Professional allows ten concurrent network
connections, and Home only five.

Lots of people - there is no [problem with Office 2000 (nor indeed with
97)
