Upgrade to 98

Meg

I know this is a dumb question, but I just don't know the
answer and don't know where to look. I am going to upgrade
my laptop from 95 to 98, but don't know if I meet the
requirements or not... It's a PII and I know it's got 160mb
RAM, but that's all I know... Is that enough?

That should be enough, Meg,

95 & 98 are close enough to each other, so you won't see much difference.

Thanks! 95 never worked quite right, so it'll be nice to
(knock on wood) upgrade to something that does... ;)

Hi Meg,

It's a question better suited for a Win98 group.

Although your ram and processor are sufficient, you may find that the retail
version of Win98 (or Win98SE) does not contain needed drivers for your
laptop. Laptops are often finicky about this, and you should not upgrade
unless you are positive that you can find the necessary hardware drivers.
Best place to check is with the laptop manufacturer. Otherwise, you may
simply experience an exercise in futility.
