Upgrade Plan for old OEM computer

I would like to build another computer. For now, the plan is to
upgrade an existing Emachine computer with a new case and LCD monitor,
but retain the old 533 Celeron processor, OEM motherboard, and memory
for a short time.

The existing Emachine has an OEM version of Win 98 with the recovery
disk. I would like to acquire XP by purchasing and installing a full
retail version of XP and not an upgrade.

It's my understanding that I can install XP for now and then when I get
my processor and MB, remove XP and install it on the new one. I will
no longer use the old MB/Processor.

Does anyone see any red flags as far as problems with the BIOS,
drivers, etc and will I receive free tech support if necessary from MS
for both set-ups?

Also, the current specs will run XP Media Edition; but, will the new 64
bit OS run on non 64 bit hardware?

Assuming your current hardware supports the new software and LCD
Install WinXP.
When later upgrading hardware, perform a repair installation of WinXP,
theres no need to uninstall.
The MS tech support will last as long as any MS retail support, after the
first installation date.
