Upgrade from fp98 but not installed and no disk.

I want to purchase the fp 2003 upgrade. I had fp 98 but it is no longer installed on my computer and i cannot reinstall it because my golden retriever thought it would be a great toy. I have the product identification number written in the manual. I had read on the box that the upgrade checks for an existing copy. Will i be able to utilize the upgrade with just the product key. Thanks for any assistance.

No, it will require that you put the cd in for identification.

no it physically asks for the CD of the previous version, or checks that it is on
your machine.....however FP 2003 might be different ......but usually upgrades of
MS software literally check that you have an existing copy.
