upgrade from 98SE to XP Home , Pachard Bell "office800" syestem

keep saying that the language is different, will not let XP Home upgrade disk
even do a compatibility check. Have reinstalled P.B. Opsys completely, but
still the same notice as the upgrade disk starts " cannot continue as the
language is different to the program attempting to install" Any idea's ???
