upgrade from 98 > 2000 keeps rebooting

how can i stop a win 98 upgrade to win 2000 that keeps
rebooting after it tries to update the information and
start from scratch
 
Depends on how far it has gotten. You can try booting a win98 startup disk
then from a command prompt
sys C:
