New HP computer with XP Home. When I go on line for the first time to download all the Security Updates it was lacking when purchased, I keep getting Chowed on by Sasser, Blaster, Welchia....etc. Worms. I reformat all is good, then online to try again...SAME DEAL. Is there a Update CD I can get? What else can I try...Oh yeah, only have slow dial up!!!

Is the XP Firewall activated ? Do you have a updated virus program installed
? No need to use the internet if you are not protected. Jym

The Windows Security Update CD can be ordered from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp

Your problems could be managed if only you turned on the Windows XP
firewall.
HOW TO: Enable or Disable Internet Connection Firewall in Windows XP

Good luck

Yes, I do have virus protection, but same deal there, it comes out of the box needing several updates. Thanks for the info, I will check out the firewall info
