Updating views on public folder

I have some trouble with views on a public folder:

- I have made some custom views on a public folder, and the users have used
these for a while. Maybe inserted af colum of there own or something. But now
I would like to make and update to those views, but my changes doesn't
overwrite the users change so that they will see the new look of a views?

- Also, when a user gets so a public folder the first time he will sometimes
see the content with standard standard message view and not the view I have
made, even only custom views should be visible?

Can anybody please help out here? Maybe a link to a site where Views are
explained in detail. Views are a great tool but it seems hard to control.

Thanks,
Molberg

To force users to see a custom view when they open a public folder:

-- Create the custom view, choosing the "On this folder, visible to
everyone" option

-- On the Properties dialog for the folder, on the Administration tab,
select your view as the initial view on the folder.

-- Choose View | Current View | Define Views, and at the bottom of that
dialog, check the box for "Only show views created for this folder."

Thanks Sue for your answer,

but maybe I was'nt quite clear - but how can I push through an my new
version of a view if users have added a column or maybe change sorting and so
on to the previous version?

Maybe it's a stupid questing, but I am not sure how/where the views are
stored and who can change them.

Best regards,
Molberg
