Deleting Outlook Custom Views

Hello,

I have a peculiar problem that I can't seem to track down a solution for. I
am working on an Exchange 2003 box with SBS 2003, with Outlook 2003. The
client has a public folder with 37 custom views on a contacts folder. They
want two views removed. Both of these views are timelines, and neither can be
removed through the normal methods. Every time I attempt to adjust them,
Outlook crashes. I had read about a similar problem in 2000 with an Exchange
add-in dll causing problems, but can't seem to find anything relating to
2003.

I know of course that I can do /clearviews, but I'd rather not recreate 35
custom views, especially since they would be down in the meantime. I also
can't seem to figure out how to adjust who has what permissions on the
individual views, if that is possible.

I found mfcmapi and mdbvu32 while doing research on this site, but can't
seem to find out how to adjust the views on the public folder with mfcmapi.
Is this the right direction? How do I actually delete those two views?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Jon

Yes, MFCMAPI.exe (or Outlook Spy, which is easier to use) is the right tool. You'll need to drill down to the Associated Contents of the folder to see the hidden view items.
