updating office 97 in Terminal server for Windows 2000

We have office 97 running in Win2k terminal server, and I
have updated the office from the web.

Guess what, none of the office applications now work,
unless I run them as administrator.

I had initially run the compatibility script for office
97, and office worked fine.
Any help gratefully accepted, and urgently required.

Some of the exe and dll files in "program files\microsoft
office\office" were only accessible by the
administrator. I changed the security on those files,
and office now works.
