updating links

i have a poer point presentation which reads from excell

the problem im having is that the information in powerpoint is not updating
when it is changed in excell, even though the automatic update option is set

doing a manual update works fine, but this defeates the point of the slide
show as it is designed to read the excell for in real time, which is not
happening if spmeone has to sit their and do manual updates

Donwload my free update links add-in from this page:

Ensure that you save the excel file in non-exclusive mode so that there are
no prompts while you are editing and PPT tries to update the data real-time.

seems to work ok,,,, but i cant download or installs this software at work,,

is thier a macro to auto do the links ?
